Elon University offers a M.A. in Interactive Media where students pursue a rigorous 10 month program that prepares and equips them to think strategically across media platforms, plan and create interactive media content, and manage information in a digital age. Students learn about and create numerous projects surrounding topics like content development and marketing, UX design, responsive web design, usability testing, and human computer interaction to name a few. To really put their skills and knowledge to the test, students embark on a fly-in project during their January term where they travel internationally and work with a client to create a project for social good.

This year, our team of 7 students and 2 faculty are headed to the city of Leeuwarden in the Netherlands. Leeuwarden was chosen to be the European Capital of Culture for the year of 2018 and will put on a wide variety of events, installations, and projects over the course of the year that bring awareness to different cultures and languages in Europe. The objective is to transform the city into the most open-minded community (“iepen mienskip” in the regional Frisian language) possible by means of a variety of art and culture.
